Emergency Fibre Call-Outs

When a critical fibre link goes down, waiting for normal working hours is not an option. Core Precision provides emergency call-outs for damaged and failing fibre networks, with fault finding, splicing, testing and documentation handled by one team. When a link is down, we move.

Please note: we support commercial and infrastructure networks only. For home broadband faults, please contact your internet provider.

When a fibre link fails, the clock is running

A severed cable or a failed splice is never just a technical problem. Sites drop offline, systems stop responding and the cost of the outage climbs while the link stays down. A contractor who can only book you in for next week is no help at all.

That is why emergency response is built into how Core Precision operates. Out-of-hours fault response is part of how we work, not an upsell. Not many fibre contractors offer a genuine emergency call-out service. We do, and we treat it as core work, delivered by the same trained engineers who install, splice and test fibre for us every day.

What counts as a fibre emergency

If a link matters to your operation and it has stopped performing, treat it as an emergency. Typical call-outs include:

Cable breaks

Fibre severed or crushed on site, whether by groundworks, machinery or accidental damage during other works.

Storm and civils damage

Weather, flooding and third-party civils works that leave ducts, joints or cables compromised.

Failed splices and connectors

Joints that have failed in service, or splices showing loss the network cannot live with.

Link loss and degradation

Circuits that have dropped, or links degrading until traffic fails and nobody can say why.

Document

Every emergency call-out follows the same disciplined process: fault-find, splice, test, document. We locate the fault first, using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) tracing to pinpoint the break or the point of loss rather than guessing from the nearest cabinet.

Then we repair. Our engineers splice, protect and re-terminate as the fault demands, and every restored connection is tested before we leave. You get the results in writing, so you know exactly what failed, what was done and how the link now performs. If the damage points to a wider problem, we tell you straight and set out the options.

Sectors we support

We work in the environments where downtime hurts most: data centres, campus estates, rail and transport networks, petrochemical and industrial sites and commercial developments. UK-based and available for international projects, our engineers are used to live environments, controlled access and the pressure that comes with a failed link.
